Pop of Black

We hear the term ‘pop of colour’ all the time, but how about a pop of black?  A pop of colour is used to create that wow factor; it adds interest and personality.  It’s often the final detail, but the first thing noticed. Similarly, a pop of black can bring an entire look together and make the whole thing POP! Look at some of the images included in this entry, and imagine each photo differently; where there is black, envision another beige or cream colour. A stunning look becomes somewhat plain or muted - right?!  It might still look great, but it just has a completely different feel. Don’t get us wrong, we do love an all white look or a tone-on-tone design, but sometimes adding that contrast just makes all the difference. It’s about finding the perfect balance for the particular look you’re going for.  There’s no formula as to how much constitutes a ‘pop’ - it could be a lot; it could be a little...you just sort of know when you have it. A pop of black doesn’t demand all the attention - it can be subtle but its always noticeable.

We love the idea of ‘a pop of black’ and we are working on incorporating it into our designs.  One place you can find it is in our ‘Tied’ throw pillow. The pillow comes with two cord options: bone coloured leather and black woven cord.  The black cord is a small detail, but it can add that little bit of interest to your sofa situation...plus it’s always fun to have options and to be able to get two looks from one item :)
