All About The Details
I am always looking for inspiration in magazines, books, the web, social media, the world around...wherever! One thing that I have noticed is that any of my favourite looks, whether it be in fashion or interiors, often have little details that seem to make all the difference. Just take a look at the images I have added to this journal - nothing looks over the top or too contrived, yet there is something special in each design. A little inverted pleat on a pocket, or a spindle thin light fixture that adds a delicate line to a room...these are the details that grab your attention without having to scream for it. There is something effortless about the details, yet you can be sure a huge amount of thought and creativity went into each and every one.
One thing that makes BLANCCARTE Interiors’ throw pillows unique is that rather than creating interest through print or pattern, I have used interesting techniques and details instead. In the first collection, I have used knots, ties, lace-ups, grommets, pleating and shirring. In the first art collection, you will also find unique details. The large scale pieces are framed using a special Japanese adhesion process that keeps the artwork in front of the matte board rather than behind it - just a small detail that makes each piece feel a little more special. Unique details executed with precision are a key part of the design philosophy over here!
